I'm just a small town girl from Cincinnati turned big city girl loving life in Boston one day at a time :) "Be pretty if you can, be witty if you must, but be gracious if it kills you." -Elise de Wolfe
These are the best earrings for day to day wear. I sleep and shower in them since they are so small. They don’t bother me at all like my pearls which are a little bigger do when I sleep. Mine are the platinum color and they go with everything. They are $42 at Nordstrom.
Bringing this water bottle around with me everywhere has really helped to up my water intake. It’s perfect for bringing from class to class or to the gym. They usually have some super cute sayings and designs in the store as well. You can’t go wrong with one of these styles though either.
I constantly am getting compliments on my phone case. I personally love this pink and white striped one, but there are so many cute patterns and designs to choose from. You can also personalize the monogram style and colors on many of them. These make such a good gift and are available for all different sizes of iPhones.
This stuff is seriously amazing. I wish I had found it sooner. My mom actually picked it up from Jenny Simon, she does our brows in Cincinnati, for a stocking stuffer and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love the smell of the grapefruit scrub and the lip slip balm makes your lips feel so soft. I have been using it all winter and haven’t had the problems with dry lips that I used to! It was super easy to start incorporating into my night routine and with how good it is, I never forget it!
Talking all about Spring swimsuit trends on the blog today! You can go wrong with a few basic swimsuits. I love some of the current trends for swimwear including stripes, gingham, tassels, and ruffles. One pieces have really come back in style which is great. They are so flattering and give a little more coverage usually. I love the crochet trend with a solid color or just plain stripes in some fun vibrant colors. Another big trend is the cut-outs. This can turn a boring suit into something way more fun!
High waists are another big one for this season. This style is so flattering as well because it hits you at your waist rather than at your hips. Lots of suits this season have fun prints like cheetah or gingham which I love. There are a bunch of cute off-the-shoulder tops linked for you all as well which I prefer to the traditional triangle bikini tops. Bonus: this style is great for not getting weird tan-lines if you plan on wearing strapless tops or dresses!
Lots of One Pieces with Crochet, Cut-outs or Stripes!
Ruffles, gingham, tassels, fun patterns, and high waisted bottoms!
Here are some of my favorite staple bikinis too!
L*Space bikinis are really high quality and have lasted me a while! They are definitely worth a little investment. I hope this gives you all a little inspo for refreshing you swimsuit collection and gets you excited for the upcoming warm weather/pool days 🙂
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I’m sharing all about how I curl my hair and the products I always use for today’s blog post. I cut my hair to my collar bone in December, and I absolutely love it. It used to be pretty long, so it was easier to manage and wrap around the barrel when curling. I have learned some tips and tricks to help with my shorter hair though, and now curling it is super easy.
I wash my hair every day so it’s always clean when I curl it. My hair is naturally stick straight and doesn’t always hold curls super well. The products I use definitely help with this though. If you go a few days between washes, curls may hold better on the second or third day.
I start by separating my hair into half up, half down and spray some of the Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray at my roots. Then I like to mess with it and kind of scrunch it up at the roots. This helps it give your hair some extra volume. Next, I let my hair all the way down and add some of the Moroccan Oil Molding Cream at the end of my hair. I have found that this really helps the ends hold the curl better. I use about a dime sized amount and run it through all of my hair.
I put my hair into half up, half down again and curl the bottom layer first. I always start going away from my face with the front pieces on either side. I usually wrap the hair all the way around the barrel and alternate towards and away from my face. When I get to the back sections that are a little shorter, I hold out the hair, grab it with the clamp, and then twist it around as much as I can. This works a lot better than trying to wrap it around the barrel first.
After I finish the first layer, I let the rest of my hair down and do the second layer. I always go back and check to make sure I like how all of the pieces look and that they held the curl. I spray my hair with the Elnett Extra Strong Hold Hairspray and scrunch it up again so it has sort of a messy look at the end. You can go back and do any touch ups you need once you’re finished 🙂
