Work Wear Favorites

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a bunch of great work wear pieces with you all today. I’ve been working for the majority of the week throughout college and needed some professional and more put together looks for work throughout my clinicals. We have class once a week (most semesters it’s on Tuesday)  and the other days, I’m in the clinic.

I love button down blouses or peplum tops for work. Madewell and Loft have a bunch of great options with higher necklines that go on sale frequently. This is for sure the best time to snag them. I also wear these options a lot in general, so that’s a win win. I love these options for work because I’m on the floor playing with kids most of the day. A classic chambray shirt, white shirt, and simple striped shirt will take your closet a long way. I usually layer these with cardigans or pullover sweaters to keep me a little warmer throughout the day. I love mixing neutrals for my work outfits, so I have lot of navy, white, camel, black, and grey in my closest.

When I first started looking for work clothes, I invested in a few nice pairs of pants that I could wear a lot. I got a few pairs from J. Crew and a few from Ann Taylor Loft. I wear a size 2 Petite in both brands for reference. I got a navy pair, black pair, pink pair, cream pair, and olive green pair. They have gotten me through all of my clinicals and are really great quality. I’ve linked a bunch of options for you below. I also linked a few dress options as well to switch it up a bit.

Another area I’ve invested in a bit is with shoes. I love Tory Burch ballet flats because they are so comfy and great quality. I have had a few pairs for 5-10 years and still wear them all the time. There are usually brown, black, navy, and other great neutral options. Recently, I got a pair of camo Rothy’s and these have made their way into my work closest as well. They are another super comfy option with lots of styles. In general, I definitely like flat shoes that look clean and professional while still being comfortable. This helps a lot when I’m on my feet and playing games a lot throughout my day.

I got a necklace at J. Crew that I love layering with my blouses and sweaters a few years ago as well. I linked a similar one that would work with a lot of options and add a little extra detail to classic work outfit.

These pieces have really helped to build up my work wear style and make it super easy to pick an outfit out each day.

Black and White Striped Sweater

Hope you all had a great weekend! I can’t believe how fast this semester has flown by and that it’s almost April! This is the perfect casual and all neutral outfit for running errands around the city or being on the go. Recently I have really loved mixing black and brown together!

I have had these booties forever and would definitely recommend them for the city. Sometimes shoes can wear really easily with so much walking, but these have held up really well throughout college.

I also love these jeans and sweater together! I love the detail of this sweater, and it has stripes so of course I was sold! I linked some really similar options for you all! The sweater is less than $35 and the jeans are on sale too!

Today on the blog, I’m sharing my favorite places all around Boston. I’ve fallen in love with this city during my 5 years here, and it will forever have a special place in my heart!

1. The Boston Public Library

This place is so so beautiful. The old marble staircases and lions are beautiful. I love sitting down in the study space with the classic green lights on a weekend afternoon to get some work though. Just remember it’ll be totally silent though haha! There is also a beautiful courtyard for the nicer days.

2. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

This place is truly magical and one of the most unique museums I have ever been to. I love the history behind it and the thought that Isabella put into creating and organizing her collection. There is courtyard here as well. I always bring my friends here when they visit and everyone loves it! It’s amazing to me that’s just down the street from my home!

3. Faneuil Hall

This is the perfect place to walk around and get a little taste of everything. You can spend some time looking around and shopping before stopping in Quincy Market for some lunch. s an is a whole variety of food including lobster mac and cheese or lobster roll and cannolis! It’s also a short walk over to the North End.

4. Boston Common and the Swan Boats

The Common and Esplanade are beautiful during the warmer months! They are right next to Newbury and Boylston St. too! It’s the perfect opportunity to take a walk and have a picnic. You can even rent a bike and ride around or rent a kayak on the Charles to see even more. In the winter, there is ice skating at the Frog Pond! The views are beautiful and it’s a nice way to put away the phone and just enjoy the city 🙂

5. TD Garden

TD Garden is always having fun events going on whether it’s a concert or a sports game. Definitely check out what’s going on and grab tickets for something fun. There are also some great places for a bite to eat or a drink before or after!

6. Seaport

Seaport is right by the Harbor and has some great restaurants and drinks as well. It’s really fun to walk around and sit by the water when it’s warmer. Definitely bring a jacket if you’re planning on sitting outside! It gets a little windy!

7. Boston Harbor Islands

There are boats that will take you island hopping in the Harbor. This is a fun way to get out of the city for a bit and see a different view! Check out the schedule online for all the details!

8. Lawn on D

The Lawn on D is always hopping with live music and drinks! It’s a great place to hang out on the weekend with friends. There is a whole schedule of who is playing and what’s going on every night so check that out before heading over!

9. Sam Adams or Harpoon Brewery

The pretzels at Harpoon are amazing and either is a great place to meet up with friends just to catch up or watch a game! The tours are really fun as well.

10. The Institute of Contemporary Art

This is another great museum to check out on days you might not want to be outside! It’s located in Seaport and perfect to add to your day in between exploring the area!

If you’re interested in the best spots to eat, I shared a bunch of my favorites in this post!

Madewell Top + Leggings

J Crew Similar Top | Madewell Similar Top | Leggings | Shoes

Happy Friday!! I wanted to share this outfit with you all today! I took a quick trip home last week and had a chance to see my besties for a quick sec which was so so nice and a much needed break from my hectic schedule here in Boston. We met up at a new place in Cincinnnati called Karrikan Spirits Company. It had the Coziest atmosphere. They had little couch areas that you could sit at for a drink or tables for food! I would definitely recommend checking it out.

This top was perfect since it was still cold and thunderstorming. The eyelet is such a cute detail and makes it a little more fun for spring! It would also be super cute with jean shorts or white jeans. I wore a black J. Crew cami underneath it because it doesn’t have a slip! The ones I linked might be okay though!

I also linked the Spanx leggings for you all again today 🙂 I’ve shared these shoes before, and they were the perfect addition to this outfit and gave it a little pop of color and something fun!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Travel Outfit

Jean Jacket | Similar T-Shirt | Similar Leggings | Converse

Yesterday I took a quick trip home and I’m already headed back to Boston tonight! I wanted to share my airport outfit with you all today 🙂

This is the perfect comfy but warm combo for a plane. This classic striped shirt and jean jacket combo from J. Crew is a no brainer. I usually think planes are a little chilly so I like to have some sort of sweater or light jacket.

These leggings are a few years old from J. Crew too! I love them because they are legging in the back and leather in the front. I linked the Spanx leggings for y’all though! I’m thinking I’m going to have to get a pair of those too!

I hope you all have a great Friday 🙂

Kut From the Kloth Jacket and Ripped Jeans

Similar Jacket | Cami | Similar Jeans | Similar Heels

So excited to pullout the shorts and heels soon y’all! I like a little bit of snow, but the summer and summer clothes are for sure my favorite. I wanted to share this ripped jeans and leather combo with you all today!

I wear this jacket in both the fall and spring. It really versatile and pairs well with pants or ripped jean shorts for chillier spring nights. I love that it has both the suede and the leather.

I found a really similar pair of jeans at J. Crew currently. I have really loved the high waist and the lighter wash of this pair. They are a super great transitional piece too. This cami is a great basic to stock up on. It is fully stocked in a bunch of colors. I also have the black and wear them both with so many different things!

And these shoes are my favorite part of the outfit. I love the criss cross straps and high heel. They add a little pop to any all neutral outift! They are way easier to pair with things than I originally thought which is always great too!

5 Things I Do Every Day To Help Me Be Productive

Jacket | Similar Leggings | Sneakers | Sunglasses

Happy Friday friends! We made it through another week!

Love this LuluLemon zip up for windy days outside. This color goes with everything and it’s so flattering! Mine is a size 4 for reference.

Today on the blog I wanted to share about 5 things I’ve been doing every day to help keep be motivated and jumpstart my productivity for the day!

1. Make my bed.

I started doing this back in September when I got back to Boston. It has made such a difference because it motivates me to then clean up any clothes or the kitchen if needed. I always take a minute to at least make my bed and then I can go about my day knowing my bed is made even if nothing else has been accomplished. Plus it’s always way better to get into a bed that was made at the end of the day 🙂

2. Drink a glass of water.

This helps me to wake up and jumpstarts my metabolism for the day. I’d rather put water into my body first thing before all of the coffee hits.

3. Write in my planner/run through my day.

I always write down any appointments or specific times I need to remember in my planner. This helps me to not miss anything or mix up the times for things. I also write down all of my assignments for school and clinical as well as my blog agenda for the day. This helps keep everything straight and put my mind at ease with all the little things!

4. Organize my lunch for tomorrow.

This one is super important on the nights when I work the next morning. It’s nice to not have to through a whole salad together in the morning when I’m running out the door and already have it prepared before hand. If I’m going to pick something up, I think about what will be close and make a plan!

5. Run through my skincare and evening routine.

I always wash my face, take my vitamins, and put on moisturizer before bed. Even if I’m away for the weekend, I stick to this routine. It helps me to unwind after a long day and know that I’ve taken good care of my skin. Bonus points if you floss too, haha! I’m working on adding that to this routine. It’s much easier adding it into an established routine than having to remember to do it separately every day.

*Going to the gym.

This isn’t an everyday thing, but I try to go at least two or three mornings a week when I don’t have to work super early. It helps get my energy up and clear my head which is always nice!

Hope you all have a great weekend! 🙂
