The Cutest Earrings with Classic Prep Monograms

Dress | Earrings

This past week, Classic Prep Monograms had a trunk show with the cutest Lisi Lerch earrings. I wanted to share a few of my faves with you all today that I have loved incorporating into my wardrobe! I immediately loved these yellow ones when I saw them! How fun are they?!? They will go with so much that I didn’t even consider at first: navy, camo, olive, camel, and this adorable striped dress! I love all of the bright colors like lavender, red, orange, teal, aqua, and yellow. A fun pair of earrings can really jazz up a basic outfit and make it a little more exciting! All of the Lisi Lerch earrings are really light weight and I was fine wearing these all day. I also wore the bamboo ones to the wedding the other week! Below are some more of my favorites 🙂

Dresses for Wedding Guests

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to share some great wedding guest dress options since it’s now wedding season!

I love a midi length dress for a wedding because I think they are perfect for indoors, outdoors, or a combination of both. I included some short and long dresses as well. I love brighter colors and lighter fabric since lots of wedding locations are really warm this time of year. A few of these come in white which is perfect if your the bride haha, but also other guest appropriate colors too!

Skincare Routine with Mario Badescu

Hey y’all! I can’t believe it’s graduation week. It’s crazy how fast it popped up. In other news, I wanted to share all about my skincare routine with Mario Badescu on the blog today. In all honesty, I have only used water on my face for as long as I can remember. I used Neutrogena and Cetophil on my face a little bit in high school, but it always irritated my skin and dried it out so much. I have pretty easy skin and am lucky to not have many issues with it, so water worked for me haha. I wanted to find something that worked well for me to take better care of my skin, and I’m so glad I chose Mario Badescu back in January. My skin looks and feels amazing now that I’ve been using it for a while. I got this set of a few products and this facial spray to start. I’m reviewing each of the products I’ve tried below:

 Enzyme Cleansing Gel

I always start with this gel when I’m washing my face. It helps refresh my skin after a long day and clean all of my makeup off of my face. It smells amazing (it’s cucumber scented) and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.

Cucumber Cleansing Lotion

Next, I use the cucumber cleansing lotion on a cotton pad. This smells great also and doesn’t irritate my skin either. It helps get any last makeup that might still be in my skin.

Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 17

This stuff makes my skin feel so soft and just overall refreshes my skin throughout the night. You only need to use a tiny bit of this for your whole face. I add my prescription cream from the dermatologist on top when necessary.

Super Rich Olive Body Lotion

I love this lotion! I have been using it on my legs before bed and it has helped so much with dry skin and just rehydrating and smoothing my legs.

Calma Mask

I have never really tried masks before so this was new for me. I put this on after using the cleansing gel and lotion. You leave the mask on for 15-20 mins and then rinse. Ideally, you use the mask 2-3 times a week. I found that I needed to use a little bit more of the cleansing gel when rinsing it off to make sure I got it all.

Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea

This was the first product I saw that I was really interested in trying. It helps even out foundation and make it last throughout the day. I use two or three sprays after I do my foundation before my eye makeup and everything else. I would definitely recommend this product and love how my makeup looked after using it and later on after a long day.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these products if you are looking into a new skincare routine especially for sensitive and dry skin like mine. My biggest issue is evening out my skin-tone. I often have some redness in random places, and I have definitely noticed an improvement with this. The whole routine takes me probably 1o minutes when I don’t use the mask. Another plus is these products are affordable and won’t break the bank when you have to get more 🙂

Five Things I Use Every Day

1. 1ct Cubic Zirconia Earrings from Nordstrom

These are the best earrings for day to day wear. I sleep and shower in them since they are so small. They don’t bother me at all like my pearls which are a little bigger do when I sleep. Mine are the platinum color and they go with everything. They are $42 at Nordstrom.

2. Solace Spritzer- Ambre Blends

This stuff smells so good and refreshes any room in the house. It lasts a while and is never overwhelming. It can even go in your purse for travel because it’s small enough!

3. Lulu Lemon- Purist Cycling Water Bottle 26 oz

Bringing this water bottle around with me everywhere has really helped to up my water intake. It’s perfect for bringing from class to class or to the gym. They usually have some super cute sayings and designs in the store as well. You can’t go wrong with one of these styles though either.

4. Classic Prep Monograms- Dabney Lee Monogram Phone Case

I constantly am getting compliments on my phone case. I personally love this pink and white striped one, but there are so many cute patterns and designs to choose from. You can also personalize the monogram style and colors on many of them. These make such a good gift and are available for all different sizes of iPhones.

5. Sara Happ- The Lip Scrub / The Lip Slip Balm

This stuff is seriously amazing. I wish I had found it sooner. My mom actually picked it up from Jenny Simon, she does our brows in Cincinnati, for a stocking stuffer and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love the smell of the grapefruit scrub and the lip slip balm makes your lips feel so soft. I have been using it all winter and haven’t had the problems with dry lips that I used to! It was super easy to start incorporating into my night routine and with how good it is, I never forget it!

Swimwear Trends for Spring

Talking all about Spring swimsuit trends on the blog today! You can go wrong with a few basic swimsuits. I love some of the current trends for swimwear including stripes, gingham, tassels, and ruffles. One pieces have really come back in style which is great. They are so flattering and give a little more coverage usually. I love the crochet trend with a solid color or just plain stripes in some fun vibrant colors. Another big trend is the cut-outs. This can turn a boring suit into something way more fun!

High waists are another big one for this season. This style is so flattering as well because it hits you at your waist rather than at your hips. Lots of suits this season have fun prints like cheetah or gingham which I love. There are a bunch of cute off-the-shoulder tops linked for you all as well which I prefer to the traditional triangle bikini tops. Bonus: this style is great for not getting weird tan-lines if you plan on wearing strapless tops or dresses!

Lots of One Pieces with Crochet, Cut-outs or Stripes!

Ruffles, gingham, tassels, fun patterns, and high waisted bottoms!

Here are some of my favorite staple bikinis too!

L*Space bikinis are really high quality and have lasted me a while! They are definitely worth a little investment. I hope this gives you all a little inspo for refreshing you swimsuit collection and gets you excited for the upcoming warm weather/pool days 🙂

How I Curl My Hair + My Favorite Products

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I’m sharing all about how I curl my hair and the products I always use for today’s blog post. I cut my hair to my collar bone in December, and I absolutely love it. It used to be pretty long, so it was easier to manage and wrap around the barrel when curling. I have learned some tips and tricks to help with my shorter hair though, and now curling it is super easy.

I wash my hair every day so it’s always clean when I curl it. My hair is naturally stick straight and doesn’t always hold curls super well. The products I use definitely help with this though. If you go a few days between washes, curls may hold better on the second or third day.

I start by separating my hair into half up, half down and spray some of the Moroccan Oil Dry Texture Spray at my roots. Then I like to mess with it and kind of scrunch it up at the roots. This helps it give your hair some extra volume. Next, I let my hair all the way down and add some of the Moroccan Oil Molding Cream at the end of my hair. I have found that this really helps the ends hold the curl better. I use about a dime sized amount and run it through all of my hair.

I put my hair into half up, half down again and curl the bottom layer first. I always start going away from my face with the front pieces on either side. I usually wrap the hair all the way around the barrel and alternate towards and away from my face. When I get to the back sections that are a little shorter, I hold out the hair, grab it with the clamp, and then twist it around as much as I can. This works a lot better than trying to wrap it around the barrel first.

After I finish the first layer, I let the rest of my hair down and do the second layer. I always go back and check to make sure I like how all of the pieces look and that they held the curl.  I spray my hair with the Elnett Extra Strong Hold Hairspray and scrunch it up again so it has sort of a messy look at the end. You can go back and do any touch ups you need once you’re finished 🙂

Work Wear Favorites

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a bunch of great work wear pieces with you all today. I’ve been working for the majority of the week throughout college and needed some professional and more put together looks for work throughout my clinicals. We have class once a week (most semesters it’s on Tuesday)  and the other days, I’m in the clinic.

I love button down blouses or peplum tops for work. Madewell and Loft have a bunch of great options with higher necklines that go on sale frequently. This is for sure the best time to snag them. I also wear these options a lot in general, so that’s a win win. I love these options for work because I’m on the floor playing with kids most of the day. A classic chambray shirt, white shirt, and simple striped shirt will take your closet a long way. I usually layer these with cardigans or pullover sweaters to keep me a little warmer throughout the day. I love mixing neutrals for my work outfits, so I have lot of navy, white, camel, black, and grey in my closest.

When I first started looking for work clothes, I invested in a few nice pairs of pants that I could wear a lot. I got a few pairs from J. Crew and a few from Ann Taylor Loft. I wear a size 2 Petite in both brands for reference. I got a navy pair, black pair, pink pair, cream pair, and olive green pair. They have gotten me through all of my clinicals and are really great quality. I’ve linked a bunch of options for you below. I also linked a few dress options as well to switch it up a bit.

Another area I’ve invested in a bit is with shoes. I love Tory Burch ballet flats because they are so comfy and great quality. I have had a few pairs for 5-10 years and still wear them all the time. There are usually brown, black, navy, and other great neutral options. Recently, I got a pair of camo Rothy’s and these have made their way into my work closest as well. They are another super comfy option with lots of styles. In general, I definitely like flat shoes that look clean and professional while still being comfortable. This helps a lot when I’m on my feet and playing games a lot throughout my day.

I got a necklace at J. Crew that I love layering with my blouses and sweaters a few years ago as well. I linked a similar one that would work with a lot of options and add a little extra detail to classic work outfit.

These pieces have really helped to build up my work wear style and make it super easy to pick an outfit out each day.

I have had these booties forever and would definitely recommend them for the city. Sometimes shoes can wear really easily with so much walking, but these have held up really well throughout college.

A Guide to Visiting Boston

Similar TopJeans | Sneakers

Today on the blog, I’m sharing my favorite places all around Boston. I’ve fallen in love with this city during my 5 years here, and it will forever have a special place in my heart!

1. The Boston Public Library

This place is so so beautiful. The old marble staircases and lions are beautiful. I love sitting down in the study space with the classic green lights on a weekend afternoon to get some work though. Just remember it’ll be totally silent though haha! There is also a beautiful courtyard for the nicer days.

2. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

This place is truly magical and one of the most unique museums I have ever been to. I love the history behind it and the thought that Isabella put into creating and organizing her collection. There is courtyard here as well. I always bring my friends here when they visit and everyone loves it! It’s amazing to me that’s just down the street from my home!

3. Faneuil Hall

This is the perfect place to walk around and get a little taste of everything. You can spend some time looking around and shopping before stopping in Quincy Market for some lunch. s an is a whole variety of food including lobster mac and cheese or lobster roll and cannolis! It’s also a short walk over to the North End.

4. Boston Common and the Swan Boats

The Common and Esplanade are beautiful during the warmer months! They are right next to Newbury and Boylston St. too! It’s the perfect opportunity to take a walk and have a picnic. You can even rent a bike and ride around or rent a kayak on the Charles to see even more. In the winter, there is ice skating at the Frog Pond! The views are beautiful and it’s a nice way to put away the phone and just enjoy the city 🙂

5. TD Garden

TD Garden is always having fun events going on whether it’s a concert or a sports game. Definitely check out what’s going on and grab tickets for something fun. There are also some great places for a bite to eat or a drink before or after!

6. Seaport

Seaport is right by the Harbor and has some great restaurants and drinks as well. It’s really fun to walk around and sit by the water when it’s warmer. Definitely bring a jacket if you’re planning on sitting outside! It gets a little windy!

7. Boston Harbor Islands

There are boats that will take you island hopping in the Harbor. This is a fun way to get out of the city for a bit and see a different view! Check out the schedule online for all the details!

8. Lawn on D

The Lawn on D is always hopping with live music and drinks! It’s a great place to hang out on the weekend with friends. There is a whole schedule of who is playing and what’s going on every night so check that out before heading over!

9. Sam Adams or Harpoon Brewery

The pretzels at Harpoon are amazing and either is a great place to meet up with friends just to catch up or watch a game! The tours are really fun as well.

10. The Institute of Contemporary Art

This is another great museum to check out on days you might not want to be outside! It’s located in Seaport and perfect to add to your day in between exploring the area!

If you’re interested in the best spots to eat, I shared a bunch of my favorites in this post!
